Justin Bieber: Charitable star celeb or cold-hearted gangsta?

May 15th, 2013 at 9:04 pm by Jason Grant Leave a reply »

We know teen pop sensation and star celeb Justin Bieber has been portraying more of a, shall we say, bad boy image lately. After all, he’s almost not a teen anymore. And former Disney princess and ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez has already distanced herself from some of his gangsta stylings. But robbing his own concert of over $330,000 in cash? Could he really have turned into a gangsta robber who chiseled through walls to steal money in a concert heist? Not likely. The Biebs might be acting like a wannabe gangster but the Biebs is still a charitable star celeb – one who gives more than he takes when it comes to charity benefit projects.

Justin Bieber: Charitable star celeb or cold hearted gangsta? Justin held a concert in Johannesburg, South Africa, over the weekend of May 10th, 2013, and promoters at the FNB stadium (also known as Soccer City) there discovered the following Monday that the ceiling had been broken into and the stadium vault had been robbed, according to Perez Hilton.

Someone used chisel and hammer to break in and lower themselves into the strongbox, according to Gossip Cop, stealing over 100,000 USD from both the Biebs’ performance as well as that of Bon Jovi, who played there the night before.

Oh, Biebs. Please say it wasn’t you! Oh, it wasn’t. Phew. At least Perez Hilton managed to capture a tweet of the Biebs disclaiming any responsibility, though the star celeb deleted the tweet shortly after posting it.

Hmm…

Sounds a little sketchy. And it reminds us a bit of that time when the famous rock band Led Zeppelin also got robbed back in the day — when some unscrupulous person made off with a ton of cash they carried with them to hotels wherever they stayed.

But South African police say that the theft occurred sometime around 2 a.m., after the concert was over. Likely Bieber had already been whisked away to some private, posh home away from home to relax and recoup, so it hardly could have been him. Still, police also have admitted that the theft appears to be an inside job, according to the Washington Post.

Police are continuing to investigate. To that end, don’t expect the celebrity scandal to be over yet.

Bieber has been having quite a rough time of it on his most recent tour. Crossing Europe and Africa has not been easy on the kid reports CNN. He’s had his bus searched, showed up late to a concert, wound up in the hospital, been rushed by a fan, and other fun things. It’s no wonder he tweeted recently that he’s ready to just “chill” for a while.

But certainly a green celebrity like Justin Bieber wouldn’t be trying to rob anyone of anything. After all, this is the young man who gave up his 17th birthday in lieu of donations to mycharity:water, raising over $47,000 for clean water much-needed in places like Africa.

He did the same for his 18th birthday as well. And that’s not all the star celeb is giving back (and not taking).

He donates to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the Give Back Hollywood Foundation, the Food Bank for New York City, and many other charities. So, Beliebers, stay strong. Justin is no thief. But he’s had a pretty rough year so far (read: tour troubles and the break-up with Selena Gomez), so take it easy on the guy, mkay?

Lest haters make this bright young star’s attitude get in the way of him becoming a truly great adult someday.
