Twilight Dakota Fanning proud of baby sis Elle Fanning for Super 8 movie?
It is going to be quite a week for the Fanning family as they celebrate the long-awaited release of the new Steven Spielberg movie Super 8. Daughter Elle Fanning has what some critics are already calling a breakthrough perfromance. The science fiction film written and directed by J. J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg opened in select cities the afternoon of June 9th and will be released everywhere the following day. The opening was scheduled to take place only days after older sister Dakota Fanning’s high school graduation on June 7th. The blue-eyed and blonde-haired, 13-year-old actress, Mary Elle Fanning, was born on April 9, 1998 in Conyers, Georgia and has already spent nearly a decade on the big screen. Her big sister Dakota Fanning is already famous for her work in blockbuster hit movies like Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Runaways with actress Kristen Stewart, and the 3D movie Coraline with co-star Teri Hatcher (sharing her celebrity voice on the project).
Elle Fanning taking her next celebrity kid step into stardom happened for the first time back when she was just two years 11 months old. Elle played the younger version of her older sister Dakota’s characters in both the mini-series Taken and followed up her screen debut in the film I Am Sam.
In 2002, at the age of four, Fanning won her first role independent of her sister, in the comedy Daddy Day Care.
Now a celebrity teen, actress Elle Fanning is playing the part of Alice Dainard, the love interest of Joe Lamb (Joel Courtney) in the Super 8 movie. Joe is dealing with the sudden loss of his mother and defies his father’s requests to lead a more normal childhood and instead decides to help his friends make a zombie movie for a film festival.
When the kids shoot a scene at the train station without permission there is a crash on the tracks and it’s all caught on film. There is a monster involved in the Sci-Fi drama — but what it is exactly — is a spoiler we are not ready to reveal quite yet.
Elle Fanning has two additional new Hollywood movies premiering before Christmas 2011, which sources say she filmed under the watchful supervision of mega-directors Cameron Crowe and Francis Ford Coppola.
Cameron Crowe’s We Bought a Zoo is a movie adapted from the memoir by Benjamin Mee, and Francis Ford Coppola’s gothic, Dan Deacon-scored Twixt Now and Sunrise. is already on the hit movie list as one to be seen by teens who love the Fanning girls (even if it does have an adult theme).
One might think that with an older sister in the film industry there would be serious competitiveness going on but not according to Elle. She says they have no need for it and doesn’t think there ever will be. Especially considering that, if asked, Elle will tell anyone that Dakota is her favorite actress.
With Super 8 already being dubbed a hit by the critics Spielberg passed a little advice to Elle. He told her to try and have as normal a life as possible. And like any normal up and coming 8th grader, Elle plans to do just that.
This summer, a full year before she enrolls in high school, Fanning plans to go to Paris, already her favorite city in the world despite her never having visited the romantic travel destination.
Is big sis Dakota Fanning likely to be proud of baby sis Elle Fanning for her starring role in the Super 8 movie?
After her success in the cult classic movie series Twilight, it is likely she will love having her little sister in another Science Fiction crazy monsters, love story with a high drama theme.
