American Idol judge Randy Jackson says [win or lose] a star in born in young country music singer Scotty McCreery and the rest of the celebrity judges agree. Was his claim surprising? Not at all if you stop for a moment and realize that Scotty — who you can vote for by dialing 1-866-IDOLS-4 — is only seventeen.
Scotty rubbed the crowd just the right way all season long with his deep country crooner voice. The celebrity teen is not only darling, he really knows how to sing. Couple his artistic ability with an award-winning Mr. Nice guy personality, let’s hope Scotty does not finish last.
Judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler don’t think he will — but after last week’s early loss of singer Pia Toscano there is no telling how the American phone in voting will go.
What are Scotty McCreery’s chances of winning? Idol Chatter says:
Scotty’s a true bass, something rarely seen on American Idol and not all that common in pop music — or country, which is where his allegiances lie.
His voice stands out from the pack immediately, and, when he’s on, the judges love him.
Plus, he seems to be a stand-up guy, as he showed on group night when he offered an on-stage apology to Jacee Badeaux for not sticking up for him when Clint Jun Gamboa kicked him out of their group.
That took guts, and it won’t be forgotten.
