Put down the Six-Pack to get Ryan Reynolds abs!
None of the male star celebs in Hollywood are quite as hot as green celebrity actor Ryan Reynolds. Voted People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive back in 2010 — then finding himself suddenly thrust back into the singles scene after only two short years of marriage to actress Scarlett Johansson (who Reynolds filed for divorce from Christmas week 2010) — he’s had a lot on his plate. But to get that fabulous celebrity physique that includes stellar pecs and washboard abs, he definitely can’t have much on that plate, as the fitness icon knows how to keep his diet healthy!
Men’s Health magazine reported Ryan Reynolds celebrity fitness tips he used to get his body fat down to an ultra low 3% while filming Blade: Trinity with now incarcerated actor Wesley Snipes. [Snipes went to jail recently to serve a three-year term for income tax evasion.]
The website shared the following celebrity health and fitness suggestions to help men cut carbs (found in starchy foods like potatoes and yeast – based beverages like beer) while building lean muscle mass. Why? So guys can learn to attract hot women and celebrity friends like Sandra Bullock (who he starred with in The Proposal and got to see naked), luring them in with the promise of a pool party or beach vacation where the lucky gals might get to see a hot guy like Ryan Reynolds shirtless.
Regarding his celebrity fitness interview, the popular and well-respected men’s health and fitness magazine writes television star, funny comedian, and movie superhero X-Men: Wolverine Origins “Wade” (a.k.a. Dead Pool) shared the following tips.
What if your boss told you to gain 20 pounds of muscle and lose a third of your body fat? Most of us would end up in the unemployment line, but Ryan Reynolds did as he was told to prepare for his role as a cut vampire killer in Blade: Trinity. Here are his tips for sculpting a six-pack–on a full stomach.
“I attribute my results mostly to nutrition,” Reynolds says. He ate every 2 to 3 hours to burn more fat. “Your body doesn’t need to store fat for energy if you’re feeding it all the time,” explains Bobby Strom, Reynolds’s Los Angeles-based trainer.
Mix It Up
“I gained a lot more muscle mass when I went on creatine,” says Reynolds. He also took L-glutamine, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), whey, and a multivitamin.
Go for Bulk
Reynolds doesn’t have a personal chef, so he cooks meals in advance. For instance, he’ll make a large supply of Irish steel-cut oatmeal and freeze it. That way, the most important meal of the day requires the least work.
Carve with Carbs
“Never do any of that carve-starve crap,” Reynolds says. Instead, watch the clock. He ate most of his carbohydrates postworkout, and none after 8 p.m.
Think about Yourself
“If you hate your workout, you’re not going to do it,” explains Reynolds. Customize your fitness plan to meet your needs. He found it “meditative” to do ab exercises first instead of last.
